A couple of times I came across issues connecting bank keyboards (terminals) verifone vx805, 810 and decided to write a couple of lines (maybe someone will need it).

Everything is installed on Windows CE 4.2

1. Connection via com.

The DLLs from Shtrikh-M, which come with the RMK, work best. Those who give money to the bank work crookedly. The Dlls are located in the SC552 folder (dll.zip file).

In addition, it is necessary to emphasize that in the assumptions of RMK up to 1000, payment with cards is implemented better: after selecting a payment, a window appears with touch buttons for selecting the type of card, press and enter the card, and in assumptions after 1000, after selecting a payment, a window appears, scan map, then select the map type using the arrows, then enter something else. In the second option, there is a systematic problem that after completing the first card payment, it is more problematic to make the second one, since the payment program freezes and does not load. Only a reboot (cold or warm) helps.

When you plug the cord from the terminal into the minipos, look at which port.

The Com port number through which the terminal will operate is written in the terminal settings file (tlv extension). This file can be viewed and edited using a special utility (TLV.zip editor).

The TLV file must be provided by the bank; it contains the merchant number, terminal number, installation address, connection method, etc.

It is more ergonomic to copy the TLV file to the SC552 directory. Run loadparm.exe, located in the same folder, go to the Maintenance menu section, select it and enter the password 878787, after which load the parameters.

When you reboot the terminal, in addition, next to the F4 button, the settings message will appear - press F4 and you need to enter the password 1@@66831 (@ is the small round button at the top under the display in the middle)

Most of the trouble is because of the keys. You need to go to the Keys menu and delete the PIN and MAC keys. Exit the menu and reboot the terminal. From the SC552 folder we delete all files except the 4 initial dlls, tlv and exe. We repeat the procedure for loading parameters.

In RMK we allow payment, for example, by type 2, in the equipment tab Setting up payment systems - for example, on the contrary, Sberbank selects at the time when it is used (by type 2) and at the bottom we put a checkmark to reconcile the results.

We are trying to pay something. There may seem to be an inaccuracy. The terminal is incorrect or something like that. It is likely that the terminal is blocked by the bank as unused.

To unblock, you need to call the bank and tell the merchant’s number, which can be found in the TLV file.

Non-cash payments for goods and services are already a familiar attribute of the life of a modern person. Many Russians today practically do not use cash when making purchases. They prefer to keep their personal funds in a card account and to pay by bank card.

The holder of the “plastic” does not need to worry about the risk of theft or loss of banknotes, and if the credit card is lost, it can be easily blocked and restored. Among the many advantages of paying by card are discounts and accumulation of bonuses for the purchase of goods and services of certain categories.

Unfortunately, all the indisputable advantages of payment plastic are sometimes overshadowed by a nuisance - the inability to complete a transaction. Money is not debited from the cardholder’s account or is withdrawn and “freezes” and does not reach the trading organization’s account due to a malfunction of the terminal.

The fact is that the connection between terminal devices and processing centers of banks in the vast majority of cases is carried out through cellular communications, which is a vulnerable point in the operation of terminals. It is imperfect, despite its almost 20-year history of development. The growth in the number of mobile devices and Internet users is outpacing the expansion of cellular communication resources. Mobile phone owners are very familiar with connection interruptions when the network is overloaded. Cellular operators regularly notify about possible problems during periods of peak load - in the evenings and on weekends. Also, the quality of communication is negatively affected by weather disasters (thunderstorm, hurricane wind, etc.).

Consequences

If a payment transaction through a terminal usually takes no more than one minute, then in case of problems with the connection, the buyer may be “stuck” at the checkout for a long time.

A loss of mobile communication during payment through a POS terminal can lead to two situations:

  1. The machine will not be able to complete the transaction. The cashier will simply cancel the cashless payment transaction. And the buyer will have to pay with banknotes, if he has them with him. This is the best case scenario for a bad event.
  2. It’s worse when a faulty terminal issues a check with the text that the transaction was rejected, but the owner of the “plastic” immediately receives an SMS notification that funds have been debited from his account. The trading organization has not received money for the goods, so it cannot release it to the buyer.

What to do?

The problem is solvable, the money will still be returned. But there is no point in arguing with the cashier; he is certainly not to blame for the incident.

First, you need to ask the sales employee to restart the device to resume communication with the bank's processing center. Information about transferring money from a credit card may simply not have had time to reach the terminal, so a check “came out” with a refusal. After a successful restart, you should swipe the card (can be the same one) through the machine and try to withdraw exactly 1 ruble from the account. Most often, the method works, and the client receives a message about the return of the amount for the problematic transaction to the bank card account.

If unsuccessful, another method must be used - the cashier must make a “closing of the day”. This operation should help; according to statistics, its effectiveness is 80%. In other cases, there is nothing else left to do but contact your issuing bank with a request for a refund of the incorrect transaction. The credit institution will contact the acquiring bank and sort out the situation. The money will be returned no later than a month.

It is impossible to say exactly when the terminal will malfunction when paying with a credit card in a store. But knowing what factors influence the quality of the Internet connection, it is not difficult to guess when the probability of such an event is maximum. Therefore, it is not recommended to pay with a card at point-of-sale terminals during periods of peak network load (weekends, holidays, evening hours) and during extreme weather events.

Payers may encounter another unpleasant issue related to servicing through a POS terminal. POS terminals Ingenico, PAX, VeriFone, Yarus with software from Sberbank of Russia are capable of servicing international bank cards (VISA, VISA Electron, Mastercard, Maestro) with a magnetic stripe and/or with a chip, PRO100 cards issued by Sberbank of Russia, as well as American cards Express with magnetic stripe.

To operate the POS terminal, a communication channel with the Bank is required. Such a channel can be a telephone line, an Internet connection, or a cellular SIM card.

POS terminals are equipped with:

1.1 POS terminal keys

Different models of POS terminals have different keyboard designs, but all have the same buttons.

2 How to work with the Sberbank terminal?

Before starting work, make sure that:

  • The POS terminal is connected to:
    • 220V networks;
    • communication channel;
    • The POS terminal has enough paper to print receipts.

2.1 How to work with the POS terminal menu?

To enter the POS terminal menu, you need to press the key located under the display (or press the function key F4 ).

Another way to navigate through menu items is by pressing the corresponding number key.

To exit the selected menu item, press the X key. Depending on the terminal settings, one of the start messages will be displayed on the display.

2.2 How to read a card at a Sberbank terminal?

If one of the messages appears on the display Insert card or <Тип операции>Insert the card or touch it to the screen, then you need to calculate it in an appropriate way.

2.2.1 How to read a card with a magnetic stripe without a chip?

2.2.3 How to read a contactless card?

To read a contactless card (PayPass, PayWave), you need to touch it to the display of the POS terminal or PIN keyboard, which displays (flashes) the logo:

3 How to conduct financial transactions?

6 How to reconcile results on the Sberbank terminal?

At the end of the working day, it is necessary to summarize the results of the terminal. This operation is called RECONCILIATION OF RESULTS. When reconciling the results, the terminal transmits to the Bank a list of transactions for the day and prints a receipt with a report.

  • Select from old- printing of receipts from previous days.

  1. Software reboot method. You must simultaneously press yellow key and the "." key (dot). After this, the terminal will beep and reboot.
  2. . Everything is simple here. If the terminal is connected to a 220 V network, then simply unplug the power cord from the outlet and reconnect. If the terminal has a battery, then you need to remove it (battery) and wait a few seconds, then replace the battery and turn on the terminal.

How to turn off the POS terminal

Typically, the POS terminal is turned off in three cases:

  1. Transportation is required - in this case, the terminal must not only be turned off, but also all cords must be disconnected (power supply, Internet cable, etc.);
  2. Non-cash payments are rarely accepted at a point of sale and there is no point in keeping the terminal turned on all the time, especially if the equipment is battery-powered;
  3. Needs cleaning. Please note that it is recommended to wipe the terminal with a slightly damp cloth without using abrasive detergents. Cleaning electrical connections is not recommended.

To turn off the Ingenico, Verifone or PAX POS terminal, click red button. After this there are two options:

  1. The terminal will ask for confirmation to disconnect - press to confirm green key;
  2. Nothing will happen. In this case, you need to hold red button for 5-10 seconds - after that, SHUTTING DOWN and a countdown timer for turning off the terminal should appear on the screen.
There is also a third option. Sometimes, after a long press red buttons, the terminal reboots, but does not turn off. Most often this applies to Verifone Vx670/680. This happens if the terminal is connected to a 220V network or due to firmware features (extremely rare). In this case, disconnect the power cord from the 220V socket (so that the terminal operates only on battery power), and then press and hold red button for 5-10 seconds.
